Position:

Reports to the Operations Manager for a 32 bus transit system that provided fixed route and paratransit service. Position will be assisting the Operations Manager with the supervision  operations personnel including road supervisors, customer service representatives and operators.

  • A Commercial Driver's License is not required but the individual must be willing to obtain one within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Requires an Associate's Degree or higher with some consideration for past experience.
  • Job has excellent benefits including pension, individual/family health insurance, vacation and sick time.

 

The position will be scheduled forty hours per week but candidate must be available during all operating hours 4 AM through 12 AM Monday - Sunday.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

This individual will be focused on safety and training for the organization to include: Coordination of Operator and Employee Training Program (including managing the trainers), Newly-Hired Driver Orientation,  Accident Investigation, Managing Insurance Claims/Risk Assessment, Security Assessment, Defensive Driving/Passenger Assistance and Conflict Management. Candidate will coordinate our Safety Committee and analyze accident and near miss data to improve our operating procedures. Candidate will also serve as a regular service supervisor part-time.

Key skillset:

  • Progressive experience managing others (minimum four years)
  • Direct experience in accident investigation required. (minimum four years)
  • Experience the development and coordination of training programs (transportation related or similar)
  • Rudimentary understanding of security principles in a low budget environment
  • Database management/maintenance using "off the shelf" programs (Excel, Access other)\
