A Coast Transit Plus rider arrives at the South Strand Medical Offices.

Coast RTA Paratransit service is a fully coordinated human service system, including demand response and subscription services. Paratransit service is for seniors (over 60) and individuals with disabilities or conditions that prevent them from using the Coast RTA fixed route system.

Either senior citizens, or people with a disability that are unable to independently board, ride or get off a bus are qualified to enjoy Coast RTA Paratransit Service. Also, people with either a disability related condition, or an environmental barrier that makes it impossible to independently travel to or from a fixed route bus stop are entitled to use Coast RTA Paratransit.

These are the only criteria used to determine paratransit eligibility. Personal safety, behavioral problems, or other issues are not considered in determining eligibility.
