Welcome to Coast Transit Plus, a new service program from Coast RTA. Now with one easy telephone call you can arrange safe, comfortable and economical transportation to meet your individual needs.

Coast Transit Plus is a demand-response service designed to provide transportation to citizens over the age of 60 and the disabled on a space- available basis.

The goal of this service is to provide members of the community with the safest, most efficient, effective, and economical transportation possible.

What is the service area?

Coast Transit Plus service is available within Horry and Georgetown counties for residents and qualified visitors. Transportation may be provided to any destination within the Coast RTA service area. This includes travel to and from Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside, Murrells Inlet, Georgetown, Andrews, Conway, Aynor, Loris, and Little River.

How does it work?

First-time riders are required to pre-register for the program. To register clients will be required to fill out a simple client information form. Forms may be picked up at the Coast RTA office located at: 1418 Third Avenue, Conway, SC 29526, or clients can request information forms by telephone at (843) 488-0865.

What are the hours of operation?

Transportation services are available Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, with the exception of observed holidays and inclement weather.

How do I make a reservation?

Reservations may be made Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM by dialing (843) 488-0865. All requests for rides must be made no earlier than ten (10) days in advance and no later than 48 working hours before the requested time for transportation.

Our van drivers are not allowed to make reservations on the vehicles. All reservations must be made through the office.

When calling for a reservation, be prepared to give the following information:

  1. Name
  2. Address
  3. Telephone number
  4. Date of appointment
  5. Time of appointment
  6. Location/address of destination
  7. Whether the trip is one-way or two-way

Passengers must allow some flexibility in pick up times. We request that you be ready for pick up 45 minutes to 1 hour before your appointment for greater efficiency.

What is the cost of the program?

The fare structure for the Coast Transit Plus is very simple: $18.00 for a round trip or $9.00 for a one-way trip. Only pre-purchased passes will be honored. Drivers do not accept cash.

Services:

Some of the most common requests for transportation services include, but not limited to: senior centers, medical appointments (at local doctors' offices, hospitals, and medical facilities within the service area), employment, grocery/shopping, and others such as club activities and beauty/barber appointments.
