Inclement Weather Forces Coast RTA to Halt Bus Service

 Due to severe weather conditions predicting snow, sleet and freezing rain for the Grand Strand, Coast RTA announced Wednesday that it would halt fixed route and paratransit bus service at 6 PM and delay service on Thursday, January 4, weather pending.  Coast RTA will continue to send updates regarding its service through local media channels; its APP; website and social media platforms.

 Please see the chart below for Coast RTA’s final departures on Wednesday, January 3 will be:

 At this time, Coast RTA officials plan to monitor the weather regarding Thursday’s service. Both fixed route and paratransit service are planned but with delays, pending any overnight weather experienced along the Grand Strand. Service updates will be sent to Coast RTA’s APP and available via Customer Service regarding its morning service.

 Coast RTA plans to delay its initial fixed route and paratransit departure times for each of the following routes, weather pending**, for Thursday, January 4:

** Updates will be published as early as possible to allow passengers time to make other arrangements or allow time to travel to the bus stop.

 Coast RTA operates the following fixed routes: No. 1 – Conway Circulator; No 2 – Conway to Loris; No. 3 – Conway to Bucksport; No. 7 and No. 7 Express (7X) – Conway to Myrtle Beach; the No. 10 – Myrtle Beach Connector; the 15 North and 15 South, choice of routes with select stops along Kings Highway and Ocean Boulevard from 82nd Avenue North to Market Common; and, the 16 and 16 Express (16X) [Georgetown routes]. Coast RTA fixed routes are $1.50 per ride for adults; $1.25 students with ID; $.75 per ride for senior citizens/disabled citizens and FREE for children, ages 6 and younger (limit 3 with paid adult). The Express Route fare from Georgetown is $2 per ride for adults. All transfers are $.25 each. For additional route information, call Coast RTA Customer Service at 843.488.0865.
