Coast RTA Announces Service Changes Related COVID-19 Outbreak

Conway (SC) -March 17, 2020- Coast RTA has taken steps to continue full fixed route and paratransit services as the US navigates the outbreak of COVID – 19. While we continue to operate full service, we have closed our indoor waiting areas. Coast RTA staff are applying disinfectants on the surfaces in all vehicles entered into service multiple times per day, as well as an end of service deep cleaning.

Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday March 18, 2020, we will take steps to avoid full loads on our system in an effort to maximize social distancing. We will have extra buses in place to add service on routes where we are experiencing large loads.  Our goal is to avoid loads of 25-30 or higher, especially on our longer commuter runs to inland points in Georgetown (Routes 16 and 16X) and Horry Counties (Routes 1, 7 and 7X).  We ask that any customers who are sick to stay home.

Coast RTA will continue to use our social media outlets (Facebook and Twitter), our website www.ridecoastrta.com and the Coast RTA Ridetracker App to deliver updates to the riding public. Customers can also call our Customer Service Department at (843)-488-0865.

We will continue to do our best to keep our service rolling so that the public can access employment or other critical services. Coast RTA fixed routes are $1.50 per ride for adults; $1.25 students with ID; $.75 per ride for veterans/senior citizens(age 55 and older)/Medicare/disabled citizens; and, FREE for children, ages 6 and younger (limit 3 with paid adult).
