Coast RTA will hold several public meetings in July to discuss the possibility of expanding its services to the greater Loris and Bucksport areas of Horry County. The public meetings are designed to obtain input from the public on proposed service changes in their areas. In addition to Coast RTA, public agencies and potential employers will be on hand to discuss using the local transportation authority as a means to access jobs, education and additional training.
“The proposed pilot program will enable us to provide effective service in areas of Horry County which may not have been served in years or is currently being served at a minimum,” stated General Manager Brian Piascik. “We’re awaiting confirmation of a grant which will help jumpstart the service this fall. Should we not receive the grant, Coast RTA will continue to host the meetings to collect information and data for future route expansions in these areas.”
