Throughout the weekend, Coast RTA operated its fixed route, express and paratransit services with some route modifications due to remnants of Winter Storm Grayson. Service will continue Monday morning with some of those same modifications in place.

Coast RTA officials say the road conditions in rural Georgetown County are still deemed unsafe at this time and continue to prevent Coast RTA from providing its transportation services to the greater Andrews and Choppee communities.

Modifications include those on Route 16 and 16 Express with the routes originating in Georgetown. Departure for Route 16 will be at 6 AM for Myrtle Beach and continue that route for the remainder of the day. Route 16 Express will originate in Georgetown with the 7 AM and 7:30 AM departures as scheduled and then leave Myrtle Beach at 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM respectively.

University Blvd along Route 7 had not been served due to the road conditions but Coast RTA officials plan to reopen that service with the morning runs between Conway and Myrtle Beach on January 8. Officials say that all other fixed routes and paratransit services are planned to operate as scheduled.

Those with route specific questions are encouraged to visit the Coast RTA APP or call Customer Service at 843.488.0865 during business hours.

Should service updates occur, Coast RTA will send out notices regarding its service through local media channels; its APP; website and social media platforms.
