Coast RTA resumed its fixed route, express and paratransit services on Friday, January 5, with some route modifications.

According to Coast RTA officials, unsafe road conditions in rural Georgetown County has prevented Coast RTA from providing its transportation services to the greater Andrews and Choppee communities. After closely monitoring the weather and scouting the road conditions, the service modifications are expected to stay in effect through Sunday night with system-wide service delays.

Route 16 will originate in Myrtle Beach with its 8 AM departure and continue between Myrtle Beach and Georgetown as scheduled each day. Route 16 Express will originate in Georgetown with the 7 AM and 7:30 AM departures as scheduled and then leave Myrtle Beach at 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM respectively.

Should service updates occur, Coast RTA will send out notices regarding its service through local media channels; its APP; website and social media platforms.
