With the recent weather forecast calling for record-low temperatures and winter weather conditions over the weekend, Coast RTA officials will monitor weather conditions throughout the period to determine if there will be a need to delay service.
“Safety is Coast RTA’s top priority. For the safety of our customers, as well as our employees, service will only be provided when we are certain road conditions are safe,” says Coast RTA General Manager Brian Piascik. “We want our passengers to be aware of the winter weather threat which may cause delays in bus service throughout the weekend and Monday.”
Current plans are to run the routes as scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Any decisions on bus service delays or cancellations will be announced by 10 a.m. Saturday, January 7 and 10 a.m. Sunday, January 8. Please watch for future updates as announcements will be made via local news media outlets; social media channels and the Coast RTA APP.
“Coast RTA apologizes for any inconvenience this delay may create but takes great strides to put the safety of our passengers and employees first,” said Piascik. “We will alert the community of any change of schedule/bus service, as soon as we make the call. Otherwise, we will deem it safe to proceed with our regular schedule.”
