Coast RTA Announces Route Modifications for Marathon Weekend

Myrtle Beach (SC)  — In observance of the Myrtle Beach Marathon weekend activities slated for Friday and Saturday (March 3-4), Coast RTA has made route modifications to the following routes due to the Marathon traffic flow changes: Routes 7, 7X, 10, 15 North,15 South, 16 (Georgetown-Myrtle Beach), and 16 Express (Georgetown-Myrtle Beach) service lines. On Friday, March 3, passengers may experience delays on Routes 7, 7X and 10 from 3-6 PM. 

Marathon activities scheduled for Saturday, March 4 will affect Routes 7, 7X, 10, 15 North, 15 South, 16 and 16X. Passengers on these Coast RTA routes will experience modifications and delays 6 AM until 3 PM. Traffic control permitting, Coast RTA plans to resume its regular service to all fixed route bus stops after 3PM. 

The following adjustments will be made to the aforementioned routes:

Route 7 and 7X  – Expect delays throughout morning service. There will be NO service to/from the Greyhound Station bus stop until 3 PM. 

Route 10  – Route modifications in effect until 3 PM. Outbound from the Transfer     Station → Hwy 501→Kings Hwy/Hwy 17 Business → 21st Ave North →Convention Center on Oak Street →Broadway at the Beach at 29th Ave N → Hwy 17 Bypass → 21st Ave North →Seaboard St, then it will resume its regular route. Inbound from Seaboard St, left on 10th Ave N/Mr. Joe White Blvd → Hwy 17 Bypass → Broadway at the Beach at 29th Ave N →Convention Center Oak Street → 21st Ave N → Kings Hwy/Hwy 17 Business →Broadway Street →Transfer Station. Regular service will resume at 3PM. 

Route 15 South  –  Route modifications in effect until 3 PM.Outbound → South on Ocean Boulevard from 3rd Ave South. Inbound → North on Kings Highway. No service to/from Market Common until 3 PM, traffic control permitting. No outbound trips to the airport.

Route 15 North  – Route modifications in effect until 3 PM. Outbound → North on Kings Highway to 82nd Parkway and Inbound on 82nd Parkway to 79th Ave North Ocean Boulevard and turn right onto 9th Avenue North to Transfer Station. 

Route 16 – First Morning Trip will operate north to Kings Highway to 79th Avenue North then to South Beach on Ocean Blvd South, North Kings Hwy to 3rd Ave South to access the Transfer Station.Inbound will utilize 3rd Ave South and Broadway Street to access Transfer Station and Outbound reverse route to access South Ocean Blvd from 3rd Ave South until 11:30AM.

Route 16X – Morning Service will maintain its route on North Kings Highway to 79th Avenue and resume regular route schedule service for the evening service.

Coast RTA runs daily service in Horry and Georgetown Counties: No. 1 – Conway Circulator; No. 7 – Conway to Myrtle Beach and No. 7-Express; the No. 10 – Myrtle Beach Connector; the 15 North and 15 South, choice of routes along Ocean Boulevard from 82nd  Avenue North to Market Common; and, the 16 and 16 Express (Georgetown routes). Coast RTA fixed routes are $1.50 per ride for adults, $.75 per ride for senior citizens/disabled citizens and FREE for children, ages 6 and younger (limit 3). The Express Route fare from Georgetown is $2 per ride for adults. All transfers are $.25 each. Multiple ride passes are available for purchase at Coast RTA, 1418 Third Avenue, Conway.
