Coast RTA officials announced Thursday that it would resume its fixed route and paratransit services on Friday, January 5, with the exception of service to rural Georgetown County.
“At this time, we anticipate lots of black ice on the roads, especially in the more rural areas where the roads may be less traveled,” says Coast RTA Brian Piascik. “Therefore, we’re modifying service for our Express Routes tomorrow. They will originate in Georgetown and continue as scheduled from that point. All passengers are encouraged to travel safely to the Georgetown Transfer Center to await Route 16 Express at 7 AM or 7:30 AM. We will operate our fixed route and paratransit service but stress that there may be delays due to the weather and road conditions. We will continue to post any updates that may be needed on the APP or website.”
The Route 16 Express departures will leave at 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM from Myrtle Beach to Georgetown.
Coast RTA operates the following fixed routes: No. 1 – Conway Circulator; No 2 – Conway to Loris; No. 3 – Conway to Bucksport; No. 7 and No. 7 Express (7X) – Conway to Myrtle Beach; the No. 10 – Myrtle Beach Connector; the 15 North and 15 South, choice of routes with select stops along Kings Highway and Ocean Boulevard from 82nd Avenue North to Market Common; and, the 16 and 16 Express (16X) [Georgetown routes].
